Welcome to the September 2006 Issue!

This is the Eighth (September 2006) Community Safety/Security Newsletter for people who are interested in making their homes, families, workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities safer.

The audio version of Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe has been recorded, but has not yet been mixed. It should be released in time for the next newsletter: Oct 2006.

Past newsletters are all on the website at:  Newsletters.

As always, thanks for helping us make the world just a little safer!

Recent and Upcoming Events

RECENT EVENTS

The Environmental Protection Agency (Border 2012 Program), together with the City of Chula Vista and the Baja California Emergency Management Institute recently sponsored a program developed by the American College of Medical Toxicology on Chemical Agents of Opportunity for Terrorism.  Basically, it was a great program that discussed the potential impacts of toxic industrial chemicals.  Some of the presentations were given in English and others in Spanish and on site translation was available for those of us whose English or Spanish could use a little work.

This course and others like it are available from the Border 2012 Project.  For more information in bringing a course like this to your community, please contact us.

Safety Tip

Make sure that your instructions for your family or workplace say what you mean to say.  This tongue-in-cheek website makes a very valid point.  Enjoy!
